Mumbai Terrorist from Pakistan?
MUMBAI, India — The only gunman captured by police after a string of attacks on Mumbai told authorities he belonged to the Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, a senior police officer said Sunday.
Seems to me that if one of the goals of the terrorists in Mumbai was to maximize the mistrust and enmity between India and Pakistan, then he'd say something like that whether or not it was true. The Indians are predisposed to believe such a story, and maybe the Pakistanis are too, The jihadis probably benefit from chaos in any event, and if they're sponsored by the Iranians, then a nuclear war between India and Pakistan is just what Ahmadinejad wants--it would essentially neutralize the two biggest local threats to Iran.
