This week's winner in yet another target-rich environment is
Star Simpson, the MIT student who showed up at Boston's Logan Airport "with a fistful of Play-Doh and a circuit board attached to her hoodie, which was emblazoned with the words “Socket To Me” scrawled on the back." In a post-9/11 world, "art" is not a "King's X" excuse for outrageous stupidity. Ms. Simpson is lucky not to be a candidate for the Darwin Award, which is always given posthumously.
She's not a politician, but then again neither is last week's winner, MoveOn.org. I suppose the award criteria should be changed to include non-politicians' actions or speech of a political nature, or that appear to be intended to make a political statement. As if the regular politicians didn't provide enough fodder.
