Musing ....

I'm sure I'm not the first to notice, but something's become clear to me:

Republicans generally talk about winning the war in Iraq;

Democrats generally talk about ending the war in Iraq.

Certainly there are exceptions, but the difference in mindset is striking.

Yeah, I've noticed it too.

There seems to be a mental disconnect on this topic for Leftists. When you use words like "win" or "victory," they get this blank look like you're not speaking English. Apparently these are not words which are grammatically correct when combined with "war" or "America."

As I found myself explaining to a FS colleague: "I just don't want us to lose!"
