Biowarfare's Brave New World
If you read Instapundit regularly then you already know about this Technology Review article on the possibilities for biowarfare and bioterrorism. It is absolutely required reading. It's long (12 pages) and complex, but well worth the read. It's also the scariest "real world" piece of writing I've seen since Richard Preston's "The Hot Zone," and maybe ever. If you don't have time to read the TR article, at least read the Professor's TCS Daily column on the subject.
For an idea of what they're talking about, after reading the Technology Review piece, read Preston's "The Cobra Event." Then plan on a few sleepless nights.
